Boys' Day (#0595)
The coy windsocks are used to celebrate what was once called Boys' Day in Japan. Now called Children's Day, the celebration takes place on May 5th every year to celebrate the health and happiness of children. This day has been celebrated for a 1000 years where it first celebrated the strength and courage of boys in the houses of warriors, and then became important to all households. This photo was taken at the base of the Tokyo Tower. Please EMAIL ME if you would like to own this image as a print, thanks.
